What I Do At Work

This is what I do when I’m NOT trying to hunt down a single number in hundreds of thousands of lines of code.

Edit: man, don’t make me edit the HTML WP, just link it for me!

Stuff

I was leaving work today when I paused to eavesdrop on a conversation on temporal mechanics and causality. And timeships. I guess this work-thing won’t be TOO terrible…

I also feel like I’m in over my head. Why does everything have to be SOOO complicated?! I could fix this bug in like, 15 minutes, if I knew where to find things, and didn’t have to compile/build/some-weird-process, and there weren’t a trillion files to look through… Instead here I am on the second or third day of actual work, and I’ve only just found (with a loooooooot of help) where the source of the HTML is. Well, part of it anyways….

The Company Store is closed till November. I hope they’ll not have fired me by then. It would be nice to make it to my first paycheck at least.

New Zune update rocks! It would rock even more if I actually had a Zune pass and could use the cool buy-songs-from-your-Zune-over-wifi feature…. but I don’t. But the games rock, though it seems to be just a teaser because there’s no way currently to install other games other than the ones they give you. They took out the quicklist though *curses* and STILL don’t allow you to edit playlists from the Zune…. =P. AND they’re still on the heart rating system, which I hate… Bring back the STARS!! =*(

I can work at work. Obviously. With the private buses they have, with power outlets and wifi, I can work on the way to and from work. With smartcard readers and remote access, I can work from home. In other words, I can work. Always. Thanks, Big Brother.

Next up… Holiday season and everybody’s birthdays (though that started a few weeks ago). Non-fall/winter birthdays just aren’t as cool! But seriously, whoever decided on these holidays… spread out the celebration a bit, don’t waste it all on a few months =/.
